Shack1.jpg. This is the repeater shack up on Connecticut Hill as you drive up to it. Nice
looking, isn't it?
Shack2.jpg. This is inside the shack looking down the left side wall. The first rack is a
commerical repeater. The second rack is the old .97 machine. The next rack is the new .97
machine and the last rack is the state police repeater. Above and to the left of the old
.97 rack is the main cable entry point from the towers. Pretty much all hardline passes
through this hole with the exception of the Q104 hardline.
Shack3.jpg. This was to be our backup battery. Bob, N2WRC, acquired this battery and it
seemed to take a good charge. However, under load it's output voltage dropped off rather
quickly requiring us to go back to the original marine style backup battery.
Shack4.jpg. This is a closeup of the new .97 repeater and the state police repeater.
Rptr_ant1.jpg. This is a view looking up at the two towers owned by Eagle Broadcasting. The
tower on the right with the odd cylindrical antennas is the main tower for Q104. The
tower on the left is where most of the other services are located including the .97
repeater.
Rptr_ant2.jpg. This a view from the south side of the shack with the antennas in the background.
Rptr_ant3.jpg. This is another view looking up at the towers. The antenna on the left side of
the smaller tower about half way up is the .97 transmit antenna. One of the antennas at the
very top is the .97 receive antenna.
County1.jpg. This is a view of the Tompkins County tower site. This site is located less than
100 yards south of the .97 repeater location. The triangular shape of telephone poles is
the county array antennas. The dishes on this tower are used to interconnect the multiple
tower sites the county operates. The telephone poles to the right with the single dish are
not used.
