Pre-Field Day Article

NEWS FLASH: Carl W2SGX is working on an easier way to anchor the tower guys. Pray for him.

Our Field Day site this year is the Etna Fire Station, same location as two years ago. This is as ideal a site as we could hope to get! The schedule will be as usual:

- Setup will commence Friday night at 6PM local and run til dark.
- Some folks will probably camp overnight in the back corner. If you see someone putting up a tent in a deluge, that would be N2VR.
- Setup will continue at 10AM local Saturday.
- Operating starting at 2PM local.
- The family barbeque-cookout-gabfest will start around 5PM; the club will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, you bring a dish to pass.
- The Saturday night on-site camp-out is always a fun part of this event for me, meeting small furry things in the middle of the night!
- Operating ends for us at 2PM local Sunday.
- We'd appreciate your help with takedown and put-away.

If you participate in Field Day and want a pin, I will collect your $5 at Field Day as the club will submit a group order to the ARRL.

By the time you get this the antenna plan and things-needed list will be posted on the club web site, and I will bring hardcopies to the June meeting. Looking forward to a much more relaxed and more fun Field Day this year!
