Field Day 2001
For other pics of the Etna Fire Station location, please see the Field Day 1999 page.
Never one to accept the way things are, N2VR decides the firehouse needs to be moved back a few inches.
--- Franck and N2VR show the completed boom of the A3 triband beam.
--- , head assembler of the A3, puts that something extra into the job.
The grand tour of the Etna Fire House. Now we know why the fire trucks are always plugged in when they're parked!
And what can be better than this?!!!
The President's Corner. NE2T readies for the CW wars.
KB2SGX and KB2ETO ready the 80m SSB position.
KC2EAM and KC2DCD try to hide with no success. They made the contact even with eyes closed.
KB2ETO battles the typing demons.
--- and Zach take a break. Young hams learn fast and eat a lot!
Ashley and KB2BON (dad) pose. Despite some initial shyness, Ashley quickly learned to love the camera from both sides. Here's proof!
Did I mention the food? W2JEF brought this cake; Liu and --- cooked until everyone was pleasantly stuffed.
Our third attempt at a 20m antenna. 1984 Honda Civic's aren't the best 20m groundplanes! The vertical on top is almost invisible.
AF2A Field Day antenna farm. We did get up a full load of antennas, including NE2T's experimental 280-foot V-Beam, feedpoint in the upper left. N2VR's tent dries quietly in the RF after the previous night's monsoon.
Oops! A3 fixed on Europe, *sigh*. 6m spins freely.
