KC2EOS 1999 ARRL Sept VHF/UHF Contest

Contest!
Four members showed up to work the ARRL Sept VHF/UHF Contest -- Doug AA2PV, Schuyler KC2DYR, Mike KC2EAL and Glenn KG4DZF. We put up a 25 foot pole with a 4ele quad for 2 meters, a dipole for 6 meters and a mag mount dual band car antenna for 432. For some 2m FM contacts we used Schuyler's 2m Isopole. We ran from 1902z through 2352z, or until it was dark enough that we could barely see. The contest was a success -- we made 29 contacts in 8 zones for 403 points. This was enough to qualify for contest pins. Furthest contact was on 2m to FN41 in Massachussetts just north of Rhode Island during grayline.

Special thanks go to Karen and Schuyler for letting us use their home again; Natan W6XR for the loan of the antenna analyzer and a 2m Force12 beam we did not use; and the Cornell Amateur Radio Club W2CXM for the loan of a 2m all-mode radio.

See you in the next contest!
