MS Bike-A-Thon 2001
Pics from the MS Bike-A-Thon 2001. (Pics range in size from 55k to 100k, so they might take a minute to load if you're on a modem.)
- KB2KDV's bicycle antenna setup. A nice, basic 1/4 wave groundplane for 144 mhz. Worked great!!!
- KB2KDV (in green shirt) watching the first wave head out. He went with the second wave. That's Amanda, the event coordinator, scurrying off in the red shirt in the background to attend to another detail.
- KB2KDV at checkpoint 2. Halfway through the first day's ride Carl still looked good and was very cheerful. He was finding coverage somewhat spotty along Route 89 but OK overall. You can see his speaker/mic mounted above the handlebars where he could get to it easily.
- Riders from group 2 gather to leave the second checkpoint. Almost everyone was still smiling at the halfway point.
- KB2KDV's long road. Three miles from the finish, all flat, Carl grinds out the distance. At the north end of Cayuga Lake his 5 watts sounded very good indeed!
- Carl manages a big smile as one of the radio cars pulls alongside. The finish is in sight!
